Overview

The village of Vrilo, somewhere in Croatia in the 1950s. After their father’s death, the Runje sisters face a traditional, patriarchal society. The eldest sister, Katarina, agrees to marry the son of the richest man in the village, unaware that their plans are not what they seem.
