In 1402, five legendary stones of immense power were aboard a ship when tragedy struck. Everyone aboard the ship was lost except one official who happened to grab hold of the "red" stone. Six hundred years later, scientists in a remote lab are experimenting with the same red stone when they fall victim to an explosion set by Professor X. Our story begins 5 years later after another explosion caused by Prof. X occurs at an event on a campus designed to gather interest in reviving the lab's work. Tie Xiong, the main speaker, genius student, and son of one of the scientists from the first explosion, decides to hunt down the stones and Professor X, with the only survivor from the lab explosion and a few friends.

Following her graduation from middle school, Yuzuhara Konomi enters the same high school as Kouno Takaaki, her childhood friend. As the new school year begins, they meet their childhood friend Kousaka Tamaki, as well as many new acquaintances. Unbeknownst to the group, their encounters with each other will soon lead to many memorable adventures.

Maxx is a purple-clad superhero living in a cardboard box. His only friend is Julie Winters, a freelance social worker. Maxx often finds himself shifting back and forth between the "real" world and a more primitive outback world where he rules, and protects Julie. Mr. Gone, a self-proclaimed "student of the mystic arts" seems to know more about Maxx and Julie and their strange relationship than they could ever guess, but he's not exactly telling all....not yet, anyway.

Will Kazyuya's new stock-in-trade click with the most beautiful girls in school, or will his career as a lensman be just a flash in the pan?

Yoshino’s engagement is far from a dream come true. Her grandfather, head of the largest yakuza group in Kansai, has arranged her marriage to Kirishima, grandson of the Miyama Clan leader, as part of a truce. Doing what he can to pay his bills, Moon Shingun works as a rogue mechanic on the city streets. He barely scrapes by with this illegal work, so he does not think twice about convincing ignorant people with cash to burn to always return to him for his services. The streets are far from safe, however, with the organized crime group known as the Mercifuls fighting their rivals for control. With drugs and death becoming commonplace in his hunting grounds, Shingun is looking to keep his pockets full; and when he overhears a car failing to start, its sound leads him to Jake Gillan, a Mercifuls member. Finding himself facing a man dressed to kill and with a seemingly bottomless wallet, Shingun believes he has hit the jackpot.
