These are the people – the human faces – behind the familiar food staples we have grown up with, and grow old with, in our neighbourhood. And these are stories of the ups and downs, the inspiration and the perspiration, of the challenges and the joys of being at the beating heart of a cultural heritage that has endured from the early days of Singapore’s history.

They survived the near-closure of their beloved hawker centre. They made it through COVID with their business — and sanity — intact. Now, the OGs of 128 Circle — Uncle Larry, Chandra, Rani, Aishah and Nurul — must face their greatest challenge … Gen Z. When Management brings in a group of newer, younger hawkers to refresh the hawker centre, hijinks ensue as the older hawkers try to defend their turf against the newer, younger hawkers. The hawkers must also struggle with rising costs and personal issues. Can 128 Circle Food Centre remain relevant, or will it become a memory of Singapore’s past?
